According to the current roster, Henry is ranked world number 3. And is a fighting champion. Recently on 9th May,  Cejudo successfully defended his UFC bantamweight title by knocking out Dominic Cruz.

Early and Personal Life

Henry was born in Los Angeles, in California. Both of his parents were natives of Mexico City in Mexico and were born and brought up there. He has a huge family of seven siblings. His parents separated and his mother had to return to Mexico City and then again to Arizona. Henry began wresting while he was participating in a residency program at the U.S. Olympic training facility. From there, he knew this was what he wanted to do in life and began training back in Arizona. During which, he also won the Arizona State championship and was one the most sort after wrestlers in the state.

Although his biggest inspiration was his elder brother, Angel, who was a record four-time state champion with a record of 150 wins and zero defeats. And with his guidance, Henry was signed by the UFC and it took him barely any time to shine brighter than his brother Angel. In 2006, Henry was selected in the Wrestling USA Magazine’s Dream Team of High School All-Americans. Following his winning performances at the Pan American Games and Pan American Championships, Henry won a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing. At that particular time, Henry was the youngest amongst all Americans to become an Olympic champion in wrestling, or to be particular, freestyle wrestling. In 2012 Henry officially retired from Olympic wresting and announced that he will now fight in the MMA.

Despite his weight category of 131 pounds, Henry managed to fight in the weight category of 135 pounds.  In 2014,  Henry was signed by the UFC and since then, he has been a double champion and has a record number of 150 straight wins. He definitely took UFC by a toll, with his natural yet raw ability and freestyle wrestling. Today he is the third gold medalist to fight in the UFC and is currently the defending champion too.
