So, the third season was to contain 26 episodes, but in January 2018, it was announced that the 3rd season will have 24 episodes instead. After that, in May 2018, the show was canceled. The 2 extra episodes were released as “Bonus Episodes.” About a month later, Netflix chose to create the 4th season, consisting of 10 episodes, and on June 6, 2019, a 5th – and supposedly final season. The 5th season was divided into two parts, each containing 8 episodes. The latter half was released recently on May 28th, 2021. Also Read: Why Did Make It Or Break It End, Is The Show Cancelled?

Lucifer: The Plot

Lucifer is about Lucifer Morningstar, played by Tom Ellis. Also known as the Devil, Satan, and the King of Underworld. He was cast out of heaven by God due to his rebellion against him. The Lord of Hell, in the series, is now tired of being the Lord of Hell. He’s incredibly bored, and as such, he abdicates from his throne – another act of rebellion against his father, aka, God. He leaves his seat of power and moves to Los Angeles, USA, where he opens his own nightclub, Lux. There, he finds himself tangled in a murder case and ends up meeting Detective Chloe Decker, played by Lauren German. He ends up helping the Los Angeles Police Department, to solve the case – and the ones which come after – by using his powers on humans. Subsequently, he begins to work as an advisor to the LAPD. The series is thus about their encounters with all kinds of paranormal and mystical creatures and solve crimes together.

Lucifer: How Did Season 5 End?

You can watch the trailer here. The 5th season began with Lucifer being in Hell, where 1000 years have already passed. Meanwhile, Chloe and Maze are trying to solve a case. While solving the case, Chloe is attacked – but Lucifer saves her. But, it’s not really Lucifer – it’s his twin brother: Michael. Chloe and Maze both find it out. Michael tries to sabotage Lucifer’s relationship with Chloe. Lucifer returns to Earth. Maze sides with Michael. The season follows up a fight, and God’s coming to Earth to stop them. This marks the end of the first part of the 5th season. Chloe and Lucifer’s relationship goes through several developments – both ups and downs (him calling her a gift). Linda, the perfect character, has an abandoned child – we see her dark side. Lucifer Season Six starts with God’s fluctuating powers, his subsequent retirement, and Lucifer and Michael’s tussle for the throne. In the last episode, Michael was just a step away from Hell. Chloe is dead, and it was Michael’s doing – he wanted her to go to Hell. He proposes another plan to Lucifer: to return back to Hell with Chloe as his bride. When he disagrees, Michael kills Remiel. Because Chloe has no guilt, she goes to Heaven. Lucifer tries to follow her to Heaven – breaking his banishment. He sacrifices himself and revives Chloe with the help of Lilith’s ring. Due to the necklace, Chloe suddenly has supernatural powers. Just when she is about to kill Michael, Lucifer stops her. He chooses to perish him to Earth, with his wings cut off, rather than dead. His sacrifice for love turns Lucifer into the new God. Also Read: Lucifer Season 5 Ending Explained

Lucifer: Season 6 Release Date, Cast.

Anyone who has watched Lucifer has liked it – or loved it. When the fifth season came to an end, none of the fans wanted it to end just yet. After all, isn’t 666 the Devil’s Number? Plus, More Deckerstar PLEASE?? The fans won, and in June of 2020, Netflix acknowledged that our favorite Satan – now God – would grace us with one last season. When will the sixth season of Lucifer be released? Hm. Only Netflix knows. But one thing we know for sure is that it has already been filmed. So our guess would be that it’s going to be released in either the last half of 2021 or very early in 2022. Perhaps towards the end would be more plausible. All our fave characters from the 5th season will be there. From our very favorite and dearest Lucifer, being played by Tom Ellis, and Lauren German as Chloe, to Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt), Linda (Rachael Harris), Ella (Aimee Garcia), Dan (Kevin Alejandro), and Amenadiel (David Woodside), everyone is going to be there! There have been no trailers yet, but there are a lot of theories. Catch one of them below:
