Episode 6

Skip the next part if you don’t want any spoilers for the sixth episode in the series. Also, skip the part if you are faint of heart, we mentioned quite a few times that the show is very gruesome. The previous episode from the first season titled “The Ties That Bind’ was a terrifying one. The crime was a little too much for some people. The crime followed the death of Karyn Slover as her body parts were found floating in bags in the central Illinois lake. A few days before, a car was found on a highway nearby with its driver-side door open and the car still running. This led to the detectives concluding that this was a clear case of kidnapping and hijacking. After identifying the car’s owner, David Swann, they found out that Karyn Slover was the one driving it that day.

Karyn was using her boyfriend’s car that day because she’s needed repairs. She was on her way back from work to pick up her son Kolten, he was at her ex-husband’s parent’s house. The only thing they found in the car was her purse, this complicated things much more. Days later, a human head, which belonged to the victim, was found in the river nearby. Everyone on the force was dumbfounded. The case was first filed as a missing person case, now that was changed to homicide. There were also bullet wounds found in the head, making the cause of death gunshots to the head.
