Subnautica: Below Zero got the appreciation it deserved slowly and steadily. As more and more people started playing this game, the more credit it got. In this game, you explore a whole new planet underwater. You play as a researcher who is exploring and studying an isolated alien facility on a planet named 4546B. You will come across a lot of never seen creatures and challenges, which will help you to gain more knowledge about this alien facility and planet. The story is connected to its prequel, so it would be great if you played the first game and then jumped on to this one. If we talk about the plot of the first game, then the game is set in the late 22nd Century. Human civilization has explored Earth completely, and now they are superpowers in the universe. They visit various stars and colonize them to show their dominance. One of the stars is the 4546B. You, as a protagonist, are sent to this star in Aurora, a deep-space vessel. Your job is to reach the star and explore the outer regions and take control of the area called Ariadne Arm. In the second game, i.e., Below Zero, you explore more and more about the star and have the task to study the alien facility which you have found there. The events of this game are set 1 year after the events of the first game. The early access of Subnautica received great reviews overall by critics as well as the gamers. People were patient enough to play the game for two years and provide feedback and see the game improve down the line. The President of Unknown Worlds also said that the game is all about its community. They have made all the changes, fixed the bugs, implemented new features on the feedback of the gamers. Initially, the game was a bit messy when it first launched.
